SHELL AND AA ENTER IN DEAL TO SAVE FLEET COSTS
26 June 2009 - Shell
A convenient and secure way of purchasing fuel
In one of the largest fleet deals in the UK, the AA has selected the euroShell fuel card to purchase part of the nine million litres of fuel it requires each year. It will give its 3,000 patrols a convenient and secure way of purchasing fuel and the card’s online management system will enable the AA to save on fleet management running costs and offers volume discounts on Shell advanced technology fuels. Announcing the deal, Matthew Snelling, UK Fleet Sales Manager of euroShell stated: “This is a significant deal between the two organisations , designed to provide AA with the opportunity of achieving significant fleet cost savings. The euroShell fuel card provides the AA with a cost-effective fuel management system and comprehensive network coverage of over 900 UK sites. We are delighted to be building a business relationship with the AA and look forward to continuing this in a mutually beneficial way.” Steve Sharpe, AA Fleet Operations Manager, says: “The AA has one of the largest fleets in the UK and we selected the euroShell card as one of our fuel card suppliers due to its strong network and cost effectiveness. Our drivers need to have access to fuel at convenient locations and on a 24-7 basis. We believe that the euroShell fuel card can provide this and will reduce our fleet management running costs, in addition to our drivers using high quality fuel that we can trust.” Matthew Snelling continues: “Shell UK Oil Products has one of the most comprehensive account management systems in the UK fuel cards sector, which provides a secure, round the clock customer service with a dedicated account manager and a concise online management information system. This, combined with our fuel technology which aims at enhancing engine life, generating greater efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions, places euroShell among the leading fuel card services for large fleets.” The euroShell card was the first fuel card to be used in the UK and is now used by 1.2 million customers in 36 countries on a single operating platform which takes 3 transactions per second, every second. In 2009 Shell will continue to invest in its fuels development programme which aims to encourage vehicle efficiency; provide more efficient modes of transport and reduction in vehicle kilometres travelled; and deliver fuels that are designed to emit less CO2. In addition, the euroShell fuelcard has a robust online system designed to combat fraud and ensure a seamless customer service is provided to all clients to enable them to analyse fuel efficiencies and reduce fuel spend.
