MASTERS FESTIVAL CONFIRMED FOR BRANDS HATCH RETURN IN 2009
16 October 2008 - Motorsport Vision
Historic event set to be bigger than ever next year
The Masters Series has announced plans for its third festival at Brands Hatch that will run over the weekend of 23/24/25 May in 2009. The Brands Hatch Masters Festival has earned a reputation as one of the best historic events on the calendar, with full grids and close racing from a huge variety of cars. With everything from 1970s Formula 1 cars to Austin A35s, the paddock is a treasure trove for fans of the sport. Masters Series Director Christopher Tate said: “We are delighted to be going back to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, one of the best driver’s circuits in the world. We have enjoyed two tremendous weekends there and, working closely with MotorSport Vision, year three will be even bigger and better.” “We will be taking our regular Grand Prix Masters and World Sportscar Masters series, as well as sports-racing cars and touring cars. In addition, we hope to reprise the successful 2008 visit by the HGPCA with their F1 cars of the 1950’s and early ‘60s. All these, plus the GT and touring cars which always provide great racing, means we are already busy working on making this event the best yet. We have a number of exciting plans for the off-track entertainment that will cement this as one of the ‘must do’ events in the historic racing calendar. Undoubtedly, Brands Hatch will be the place to be in May 2009.” MotorSport Vision Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer added: “We are thrilled to welcome back the Masters Festival to Brands Hatch for the third consecutive year. Christopher Tate and his team have done a fantastic job in attracting some wonderful machinery to this event, many of which have raced and won at the circuit over the last fifty years, and the Masters Festival is now fully established as one of the highlights of our racing calendar. I look forward to another superb weekend of historic racing in May 2009.” More details and a provisional timetable for the Brands Hatch Masters Festival will be announced shortly.
