UNPRECEDENTED FIRST QUARTER SALES SUCCESS FOR AUDI UK Exceptional March sales total contributes to record first quarter for Audi UK March Audi sales surge by almost 20%, total first quarter sales up by just under 17% over same period in 2006 A fast expanding range of sought after new models has helped to boost Audi UK’s March total by 19.8% to a record total of 19,242 sales, and in turn this increase has contributed to a 16.6% improvement on the brand’s total for the first quarter as a whole, taking it to an unprecedented 31,232 sales. Head of Audi UK Operations Gary Savage was greatly encouraged by the brand’s early performance indicators: “I am delighted that we have made such incredible headway already in 2007, and while we still have plenty of ground to cover if we’re to make this our seventh successive record sales year, the signs are looking extremely positive,” he said. “Our model range has never been stronger, our order bank is showing an increase of almost 100 per cent over 2006 and the new product roll-out for this year is still far from complete – all the conditions are right for Audi UK’s continuing ascent,” he concluded. In 2006 Audi UK posted 86,003 sales, a 5.7% increase on 2005’s figure and the sixth consecutive sales increase since 1999, when 40,615 cars found homes in the UK. A total of 41 markets set new sales records for Audi in 2006, sparking predictions that the brand will have decisively re-ordered the long-established hierarchy in the premium sector by the middle of the next decade.
