ACFO PUTS ENVIRONMENTAL FLEET MANAGEMENT IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT 2007 CONFERENCE AND AGM
02 April 2007 - ACFO (Association of Car Fleet Operators)

One of the highlights in the fleet year will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2007 when ACFO, the leading UK representative body for fleet operators, stages its annual Conference and AGM.

Fleet management and the environment will be the main focus of the 2007 event, which is free to all ACFO members and invited guests.

The range of speakers will include a ‘green fuels’ expert from Volkswagen, which has kindly agreed to sponsor the day. Other frontline speakers will focus on other major ‘green’ issues at the Conference, which is traditionally a key date in the diaries of fleet operators.

ACFO Director Stewart Whyte said: “Environmental issues and their interaction with corporate motoring are taking increasing prominence under mounting pressure from Government and the European Commission as a consequence of legislation and fiscal influence. Many fleets still grossly underestimate the need for forward thinking on these issues.”

The Conference and AGM will be held at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, starting at 10.30am. Throughout the day there will be excellent networking opportunities for members and guest fleet operators from across the UK.

The formal proceedings will be the organisation’s AGM, which will see directors Julie Jenner (chairman) and Stewart Whyte (membership secretary and press officer) retiring by rotation. Both plan to stand for re-election.

Full details on the speaker line-up will be announced in the near future with further details available by contacting ACFO membership co-ordinator Janice Sears on 01730 260162 or by e-mail to info@acfo.org.
