NEW SENIOR APPOINTMENTS FOR SKODA BUSINESS SALES

Skoda has made two new senior appointments in its business sales team to help the brand achieve its quest to become the most valued manufacturer by fleet managers
Rob English, 39, joins the Czech manufacturer as National Business Sales Manager from sister company Audi where he held the position of National Fleet Sales Manager. In his new role he will be responsible for developing new and existing customer relationships through three dynamic sales functions: business sales managers, business sales centres and key contract hire accounts. Rob, who lives in Rugby, comments: “I have been extremely impressed by the infectious passion and enthusiasm demonstrated by all within the Skoda Network, which is clearly a key factor in its success with customers. I am looking forward to working closely with the rest of the team to achieve our goals during such an exciting stage of Skoda’s development.” Meanwhile, Andy Thomas has been promoted to Business Relationship and Development Manager from his previous role as Regional Contract Hire Manager for the manufacturer. Andy, 37, who lives in Yardley Gobion near Milton Keynes, will manage the day-to-day relationships between Škoda’s business sales department and the industry influencers and data providers. He will also hold responsibility for overseeing the development of new systems and processes to assist the manufacturer’s fleet volume aspirations. Martin Burke, Head of Business Sales for Skoda UK, comments: “The appointment of both Rob and Andy shows that we are dedicated to our future within the fleet industry and determined to enhance people’s view of our products. “It is our goal to replicate the customer service we are infamous for in the consumer market within the fleet industry and to be recognised as ''the most valued fleet manufacturer.'' I have every confidence that Rob and Andy will play an integral role in helping the brand move closer to its aspirations in 2007 and beyond.” Škoda now has a total fleet share of 1.27% after securing a number of high profile clients, including IKEA, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Mencap and Caterham Cars. It is aiming is to grow its share of the business sales market by offering fleet managers and company car drivers alike its legendary ‘extra bit of car’ for their money.
