IVECO APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR IN THE UK
13 March 2007 - IVECO

Henk van Leuven, already head of Iveco in the Benelux and Scandinavian markets, has been appointed Managing Director of Iveco Ltd.

He brings with him significant experience within the automotive industry, having held senior positions with Bova, Iveco Netherlands and DAF prior to joining Iveco SpA in 2001, when he took on the role of Commercial Director of the Heavy Truck Business Unit in Turin. After overseeing the launch of Stralis, he went on to develop Iveco’s dealer network in Russia, before being appointed as Commercial Director of Irisbus’ European operations in 2003.

Since starting his current role two years ago, he has successfully pioneered Iveco’s heavy truck sales strategy in the Benelux countries, with Stralis enjoying a significant increase in market share.

Mr van Leuven, 53, arrives in the UK just one month ahead of the domestic launch of Iveco’s new flagship Stralis heavy truck range, already billed as one of the most eagerly anticipated new vehicles to be exhibited at the forthcoming Commercial Vehicle Show.

“It’s a very exciting time for Iveco,” says Mr van Leuven. “The launch of the new Stralis will see Iveco selling what is without doubt the strongest product line-up in its history, and also the most modern commercial vehicle range of any manufacturer on the market.”

“It also comes just six months after the arrival of the new Daily, which is already achieving its best-ever market share of nearly 12 per cent in the fiercely competitive 3.5 tonne sector,” he adds.

Based at Iveco’s UK headquarters in Watford, Mr van Leuven’s new role will give him greater influence within the Iveco Group, representing three major markets responsible for total new vehicle sales exceeding 23,000 units annually.
