SKODA LOVE AFFAIR SPANS THREE DECADES
27 February 2007 - Skoda

Skoda retailers are used to welcoming back customers time and time again - but it’s not often they sell someone their 27th Skoda.

Irvine Skoda in Somerset recently experienced this pleasure when valued customer, Alger Cooper from Witheridge, North Devon, arrived to search for his 27th model from the brand.

With a history of a career in the motor trade, Alger is up-to-speed on the industry, so when changing his Morris Oxford in 1971, he immediately chose the rear-engine Skoda 1100 and has been loyal to the badge ever since.

When Chris Anderson, Dealer Principal for Irvine Skoda, heard Alger was ready to exchange his Fabia Elegance Estate, he invited him along for a special preview of the new Roomster, a week before it launched to the public. After being given a demonstration of all the creature comforts included in the new model, Alger placed his order on the spot!

He has been delighted with the Roomster, but claims that the rear-engine models were just as good as the modern versions today. He comments: “I’d never have any vehicle other than a Skoda. They are so reliable, and in 36 years have never let me down.

“I’ve had several Skodas from Irvine Skoda and they always treat me like a VIP. I was thrilled when they gave me an exclusive viewing of the Roomster; everyone there is so helpful.”

Chris Anderson comments: “It’s great that Alger is so dedicated to the Skoda brand. We often find that once people have owned one Skoda, they stay with us for life.”
