APRIL EVENT ONE OF THE BIGGEST YET
15 February 2007 - SMMT

Over 130 new exhibitors at CV Show and ATS

Organisers say that 134 new exhibitors have already signed up for this year''s event and many regular exhibitors will take bigger stands. The annual show, from 24 to 26 April at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, is the biggest and most successful annual business-to-business show of its type in Europe.

''Last year the show attracted over 600 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors,'' said David Sedgley, CV Show and ATS chairman. ''It is a proven success, delivering millions of pounds worth of business to an already wide and growing range of firms. Success stories range from world launches by global firms to smaller scale but equally important debuts for individual entrepreneurs.''

The show falls into two broad but linked parts, with the Commercial Vehicle Show attracting growing numbers of visitors from all areas of the road transport business. ''For three days the CV Show is the hub of the industry, with firms using the CV Show as the main platform to launch new products, while supporting sectors use the event as the basis of their marketing activities,'' said David Sedgley.

The Automotive Trade Show covers the complementary and vital maintenance workshop and service garage sector - including franchised or independent garages, bodyshops, motor factors, fast fit and parts and accessory retailers. Senior people from every sector of the aftermarket and service garage sector come to the ATS to meet with existing and potential suppliers.

''In simple terms, the people that keep the UK''s vehicle fleet running see the CV Show and ATS as a must do event. Its unique nature gives visitors two bites of the cherry - they get to see vehicle makers and those vital support services under one roof,'' said Bob Sockl, marketing consultant for the event. ''It''s significant that around 40 per cent of visitors to ATS are also CV Show visitors looking for service and repair solutions.''

The event is owned by the CV Show Partnership, comprising the Road Haulage Association, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers), a professional sector of the Society of Operations Engineers. Crystal Communications handles stand space sales and marketing for the Partnership.
