SIMON WARR APPOINTED DIRECTOR COMMUNICATIONS
Jaguar and Land Rover today announced the appointment of Simon Warr as Board Director responsible for Communications and Public Affairs, effective February 1. In this role, Warr will take charge of the existing communications organisation for Jaguar and Land Rover. Paul Chadderton Jaguar Director Global Product and Brand Communications and Andrew Roberts Land Rover Director Global Product and Brand Communications will continue running dedicated brand communications teams. Also supporting Warr, Don Hume will continue in his present role as Jaguar and Land Rover Director Corporate and Government Communications. “Simon brings considerable breadth of experience to our communications team,” said Geoff Polites, CEO of Jaguar and Land Rover. “He has worked with all Ford Motor Company''s brands outside North America and in a number of locations around the world. In recent years, he has driven a much more strategic communications approach across our luxury division, Premier Automotive Group. He is a great addition to our team and I look forward to working with him.” Warr will also report to Ian Slater who takes over as Vice President Communications and Public Affairs, Ford of Europe and Premier Automotive Group. In this role Slater will oversee the communications of all Ford Motor Company brands based in Europe, in addition to his current duties leading the Ford of Europe communications team. After starting his career in journalism and Government press relations in the early 1990s, Warr joined Ford of Europe in Cologne in 1999. After positions in both corporate and product communications he took up a global product PR role at Ford’s partner Mazda Motor Corporation in Hiroshima. He has since been Director of Communications at Ford’s Premier Automotive Group, based in London, which includes Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. Born 1967, Warr studied Arabic and German at Leeds University and journalism at London’s City University.
