NEW APPOINTMENT FOR IAM NORTHERN OFFICE Simon Protano FinstSMM DSA ADI is IAM Fleet’s new Business Manager for the North of England. He is certainly well qualified for the job, having been involved in training since the tender age of 15, while he was an army cadet. Six years later, he combined his passion for driving and teaching to become a driving instructor. His career quickly progressed into the training of Driving Instructors on behalf of the Instructor College – a combined training/sales role that allowed him to further develop his already well-developed communication skills. As part of his commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD), Simon has completed a number of advanced driving qualifications, including the IAM one and the prestigious DSA’s Cardington Special test. This has enabled him to maintain his qualification as a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Sales, Marketing and Management.
