PETER WYHINNY TO BECOME NEW MD FOR SEAT UK

Peter Wyhinny, who has been director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for eight years, is to become the new managing director for Seat UK in the next few months.

He replaces Kevin James who is leaving the company.

Peter Wyhinny was pictured today, 25 April, introducing the world premiere ceremony for the debut of new VW Crafter range of vehicles at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2006 held at the NEC Birmingham. The show runs from April 25 – 27.

Under his directorship the UK has become VW’s second largest European market for commercial vehicle sales, second to Germany. VW in the UK has recorded five consecutive years of record sales and six consecutive years of sales growth. Sales have increased by 50 per cent in the last two years. In 2005 a record 23,065 Volkswagen commercial vehicles sales were achieved in the UK.

The VW Crafter will go on sale in the UK in September this year.
