AUTOMOTIVE CONSULTANCY EXPANDS WITH NEW KEY STAFF
18 April 2006 - alchemy performance development ltd

APD has appointed two new senior members of staff to meet increasing demand for its range of services from vehicle manufacturers, franchise and independent dealers and contract hire and leasing companies.

The specialist automotive research and development consultancy, which has offices in Malmesbury and London, has appointed Andy Allwood to the post of qualitative research specialist and Tony Peace has joined as associate finance consultancy and outplacement specialist.

Andy is a qualitative researcher with particular expertise in new product development, brands and communications development.

His initial career was in advertising and marketing communications, where he was head of marketing communications at retailer Lunn Poly. More recently he has been a freelance researcher for agencies including NOP Automotive, Oxford Consultancy, RS Consulting and Simpson Carpenter.

His automotive experience includes moderating ‘car clinics’ for Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen and conducting projects for Audi, Bentley, MAN trucks, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault and component manufacturer Visteon, plus automotive sector studies such as a study of training needs in the rental and leasing sectors.

Meanwhile, Tony, following a career in the engineering industry, including 20 years as a finance director, has developed a broad commercial focus giving him a perspective across a range of key business issues, including administration and HR, the introduction and implementation of integrated computer systems and contributed strategically and actively in company acquisition, divestment and relocation.

For the last 11 years this experience has been successfully applied to delivering finance training and consultancy to major commercial enterprises. In parallel with training activities, he has successfully provided outplacement consultancy support and counselling to several hundred people experiencing career change.

The two additions follow those of Anne-Marie Griffiths as head of client services and Roy Peace, head of training and development, earlier this year.

Paul Turner, managing director of apd, said: “The latest additions reflect the continued expansion of apd and the supply of a range of services to an increasing number of automotive customers.

“Vehicle manufacturers, dealers and contract hire and leasing companies are all under pressure to increase business volumes and therefore profitability. We bring a raft of new thinking to the companies we work with that will enable them to reap significant benefits.’
