APPOINTMENT OF NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Phoenix Venture Holdings Limited has today appointed Nigel Petrie as a non- executive director.
In this new role, Nigel will establish and chair an audit committee and a remuneration committee. He will also serve as a non-executive director on the Board of MG Rover Group Limited. Commenting on the appointment, Peter Beale, Deputy Chairman, said, ''I am delighted to welcome Nigel to the Board. His proven skills in business improvement across a range of sectors will bring a valuable and independent dimension to our decision making as we plan for the future''. Nigel Petrie added, ''I am very pleased to be joining the Boards of PVH and MG Rover and to have the opportunity to help shape the future of the UK''s largest independent car company. This represents an extremely important challenge for me''. Since 1997, Nigel Petrie (57), has been Chairman of Dedicated Microcomputers Group Limited, a global leader in the manufacture and supply of electronic security equipment; a company that won the Queens Award to Industry in 2003, for enterprise. He has extensive experience of business management and improvement, including working with the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric project in Australia. He was HR director at the National Grid Company, now National Grid Transco, until 1993 when he was appointed General Manager, then Managing Director of First Hydro Company, a peak generator trading in the UK electricity market. Nigel also has extensive non executive experience in the Healthcare sector in the US and the UK. He is a member of the Board for Wales of the National Trust and a Governor of Clwyd Theatr Cymru.
