SILVER IS POPULAR, BUT MONOGRAM IS PERSONAL
29 July 2004 - MG Rover
Silver remains the most popular colour ordered on every new model in Rover’s extensive line-up – from the CityRover to the attractive 75.
Royal Blue and the new Firefrost Red pearlescent are close behind. But for customers who prefer to express their individuality and specially tailor their MG or Rover car, the company’s Monogram Bespoke Build programme is now viewable with a specially created CD, available from MG Rover dealerships, that permits individuals to create and specify the precise car they desire on computer. Using the very latest software technology and running on Windows XP, the CD can illustrate the effects of all the 50 colour schemes available and view it on a selected car, turning through 360o. This is particularly useful for illustration and to see the full potential of the sophisticated Monogram flip paint treatments, most notably the ‘Chromescent’ paints like Moonshine, with its iridescent holographic paint effect. The Monogram facility has been very popular, with several thousand satisfied customers. The programme permits individuals to personalise their cars from a broad range of special colours, a wide selection of interior trim colours and fabrics, and a variety of individual features not normally available as part of a manufacturer’s specification.
