HONDA CARS DOMINATED THE RETAIL SALES CHARTS IN FEBRUARY
11 March 2006 - Honda

Jazz, Civic (petrol), Accord petrol (both saloon and Tourer) and CR-V (both diesel and petrol) topped their sector and Honda outsold both BMW and Toyota.

''It''s a tough market at the moment and this is hugely encouraging,'' commented Ewan Ramsay, Honda (UK) General Manager of Cars. ''The retail market always gives you the best indicator of which brands are performing well because these purchases are made with individuals'' money rather than through a company scheme. When it comes to company cars our intention is for Honda to become a key consideration for user choosers and that means desirability. I can see Honda continuing to take share from the German brands that have historically dominated this segment.''

The success also implies that residual values are vital in private car buying behaviour.

According to recent figures from Glass''s* Honda dominates the residual vales for almost all of its models.
