PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN AND PLASTIC OMNIUM SIGN INNOVATION PLAN
04 March 2006 - Peugeot
At the Geneva Motor Show, PSA Peugeot Citroën signed a partnership agreement with auto equipment manufacturer Plastic Omnium
The partnership agreement will implement a joint technological Innovation Plan to drive shared improvements in perceived quality, safety, comfort and weight reduction. While leveraging Plastic Omnium’s expertise in exterior plastic components, the plan is also aligned with the requirements of the innovative new concepts being developed by PSA Peugeot Citroën. As such, it is particularly focused on opening modules, roof modules, fenders, front ends and fascia. Through the partnership, the two companies intend to develop innovative solutions, capable of responding to rising carbuyer expectations for lower costs, higher quality and more and better features. The new contract further demonstrates PSA Peugeot Citroën’s involvement in supplier innovation plans, which have proven highly effective by enabling teams to work together far upstream in the development process and by simplifying, clarifying and optimising relationships between the partners. The contract is intended to provide both companies with a critical competitive advantage in defining the car of the future.
