HRYZIUK FIRMLY CEMENT THEIR ALLIANCE WITH VOLVO
03 March 2006 - Volvo Truck Ltd
St Helens-based Hryziuk Haulage, are taking delivery of a new Volvo FH12.
The unique vehicle travelled to France for the tank to be fitted in an operation that took over two months to complete and it will now be used to carry mortar to temporary cement silos on building sites across the North West. Unlike most trucks of this nature the vehicle has been set-up on an 8x4 wheelbase, to enable the vehicle to manoeuvre across smaller building sites, which 6x4 and 4x2 artic’s would have found difficult. The 420bhp FM12 has been plated for 32 tonne GCW specified with Globetrotter cab in ‘Comfort’ trim. The vehicle also has added extras of four additional central roof lights and polished aluminium rims to allow the vehicle to, not only stand out, but to keep weight distribution low. Established in 1999, Hryzuik Haulage is growing at a rate of about one new vehicle each year. Managing Director Nykola Hryziuk explained his decision to purchase the unusual vehicle when he said, “This year I identified a gap in our fleet for a rigid that will manoeuvre easily around small building sites. He added that “due to the expansion of self build sites and small city-centre building sites most articulated trucks find it difficult to access them - I wanted a truck that would overcome this problem.” Hryzuik Haulage already own three Volvo trucks, so naturally the marque was Nykola’s first choice for the new vehicle. He said, “We have purchased Volvo for a number of years now and over this time my confidence has continued to grow.” As a former owner-driver for Tarmac, the nationwide construction company, Nykola now operates a fleet of five vehicles, most of which are working under a company contract for his former employer. Nykola also hopes to show the new truck vehicle, which will also be part of the Tarmac fleet, at the forthcoming Truckfest show in Peterborough in April. The vehicle was purchased and will be maintained at Thomas Hardie Commercials Middlewich depot, along with the rest of Hryzuik’s fleet. Nykola stated that, “Thomas Hardie offer exceptional customer service…they have a fantastic sales and servicing team.” Hryzuik Haulage plan to expand their fleet with Volvo and have already made plans to purchase a new Volvo tractor unit in the summer.
