IVECO WINS LOCAL AUTHORITY DEAL WITH KIRKLEES METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
23 February 2006 - IVECO

Iveco distributor Northern Commercials has been awarded a three year framework agreement (with an optional fourth year) to supply Kirklees Metropolitan Council with an estimated 30 new trucks a year.

Northern Commercials has over the last 15 years enjoyed a number of successful commercial relationships with the Council.

The first batch of new vehicles is already in operation, comprising three Daily 50C14 and four Daily 65C17 chassis cabs, fitted with a mixture of tipper, cage tipper and plant bodies with beavertails.

They are being joined by seven Eurocargo 75C17 tippers and nine Eurocargo 180E24’s. The 18 tonners include four chassis mounted with Econ Unibodies, three tippers with cranes and two dropsides with cranes, the latter of which will be used for the transportation and installation of street lighting.

The Daily’s and Eurocargos are extremely versatile vehicles, popular in the local authority market for offering good levels of all-round compatibility and bodybuilding flexibility.

The new fleet of Ivecos are expected to remain in operation with the Council for between five and seven years, with average annual mileages of 15,000 and 20,000 expected for the Daily and Eurocargo vehicles respectively.

Kirklees Metropolitan Council serves an area of West Yorkshire covering 254 square miles. This stretches from the high moorlands of the Pennines (including part of the Peak National Park) around Marsden and Holmfirth in the west to the edge of Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield in the east.
