VOLVO TRUCKS TO SHOW OFF ALL NEW PRODUCT RANGE AT CV SHOW

The 2006 Commercial Vehicle Show, to be held at the NEC, Birmingham from 25th - 27th April 2006, will feature three Volvo stands – Volvo Trucks, Volvo Selected Used Trucks and Volvo Parts and Service/Roadcrew.

Located in Hall 5, Volvo Trucks’ main stand (5118) will host the UK’s first public showing of Europe’s most powerful production truck - the new Volvo FH16 – launched on February 1st. In addition the stand will feature the UK show debut of the new generation 13-litre FH and FM vehicles, launched last autumn.

Visitors to the stand will be able to see the 580hp, 6x2 version of the FH16 featuring a Globetrotter XL cab in ‘Prestige’ trim with full leather interior, automated 12-speed I-Shift gearbox, Volvo’s Dynafleet Online package, reversing camera and EBS braking system as the leading exhibit.

A top-of-the-range 660hp FH16 will also form the centrepiece of an external exhibit outside the Show entrance.

The FH on show will be a 6x2 tractor unit with an external air kit, Dynafleet Online, I-Shift automated manual gearbox, ESP, VEB, SCR, polished aluminium wheels and Volvo’s new Euro 5-compliant 480hp D13A engine. The truck also features a Globetrotter XL cab in ‘Comfort’ trim with twin bunks, fridge/freezer and RDS Radio/CD player.

The third vehicle on display will be an FM 6x2 rear-steer rigid chassis with a Globetrotter single-bunked cab with ‘Comfort’ trim, I-Shift automated manual gearbox and a Euro 4-compliant 340hp D13A engine.

Also on the stand will be static displays of the new D13A engine, the latest I-Shift automated manual gearbox and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, demonstrations of Volvo’s latest Dynafleet products and a hospitality area.

Volvo’s Selected Used Trucks stand (Hall 5 – stand 5021) will be used to launch a new Selected Used Truck programme and two Used trucks will be on display, demonstrating the long term reliability and good residual values of Volvo trucks.

Volvo Trucks’ Commercial Aftermarket stand (Hall 5 – stand 5022) will also feature Roadcrew, Volvo''s ''one-stop-shop'' parts supplier. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions that visitors may have.
