NEW PRESIDENT AT KIA IN UK
14 February 2006 - Kia

Kia Motors (UK) Limited has welcomed its new President, Mr. Byong Kwang Jang who has taken over the helm with immediate effect.

Mr Jang, 49, arrives from Kia Motors Corporation head office in Seoul where he was Director of Export Sales Group 1 to succeed Mr. Se-Il Lee who has returned Korea. Mr Jang has also worked with Hyundai Motor Company as a general Manager and joined Kia in 2004.

Mr Jang said: ''I am very happy to come to the UK where Kia has enjoyed phenomenal growth over the last few years. Europe is a very strategically important region for Kia, with the opening of our factory in Zilina later this year and the UK is one of the primary markets in Europe – so success here is vital.

''It is my job to ensure Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., stays at the forefront of our growth in Europe and although we are planning to use 2006 to consolidate our success by only seeking to increase sales to around 45,000 units this year, it is important that we continue the development of our infrastructure and systems so that we can again move ahead strongly once Zilina is in full production.

''With the arrival of four new or dramatically improved vehicles this year – the all-new Magentis saloon, the face-lifted Sorento, and all-new versions of Sedona and Carens – we shall have one of the youngest product ranges in the UK new car market with Picanto, launched in May 2004, being the oldest vehicle in our line up!

And with the first product from Zilina arriving at this time next year we have an excellent basis to make our push for 100,000 sales a year by 2010.''
