CHRYSLER GROUP UNVEILS DODGE NITRO AND PERFORMANCE DODGE CALIBER AT CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

Chrysler Group has unveiled two more Dodge vehicles that will be joining the Dodge range in the UK during 2007.

The SRT-4 is a performance version of the Dodge Caliber and offers 260 lb. ft. of torque from a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine to reach 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds.

Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler Group said: ''The SRT-4 has been developed by Chrysler Group’s ‘Street Race Technology’ performance division. All SRT vehicles feature unique exterior details, lowered sports suspension, sports interior and a powerful engine - the all-new 2.4-litre turbocharged engine boasts a tyre-smoking 300 horsepower to deliver a level of power you’d expect from a V8!''

The Dodge Caliber SRT-4 was unveiled at the Chicago Show this week and will arrive in the UK in the first half of 2007. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.

The second new Dodge bound for the UK is the five-seater Dodge Nitro, a mid-size SUV that is designed to attract customers seeking a vehicle with distinctive styling, sporty performance and a flexible interior.

Simon Elliott added: ''The Dodge Nitro’s bold styling and aggressive stance will help make it stand out in a crowd. This striking vehicle will come with a diesel as well as petrol engines and embodies the bold, powerful and capable characteristics of the Dodge brand. It will be well priced and very well equipped.''

The new SUV is based on the Dodge Nitro concept unveiled at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show and will arrive at Chrysler Group dealers in the UK in early 2007. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
