REFOCUSSED MANAGEMENT TEAM STRENGTHENED
09 February 2006 - Volvo Truck Ltd

With immediate effect, Hartshorne Group, the Midland’s premier supplier of commercial vehicles, has restructured its Senior Management team at Board level.

The move involves Group Managing Director David Bachelor taking overall responsibility for the company’s Volvo Truck and Bus new and used vehicle sales operations in addition to his current aftermarket duties. At the same time, Sales Director Brian Bachelor has taken on overall responsibility for replicating Hartshorne’s success in the heavy truck market with the Volvo franchise by maintaining and developing the company’s rapidly growing VW Van business in his new role as Managing Director of Hartshorne Van Services Limited.

Says David Bachelor. ''The change in responsibilities will allow Hartshorne to stay totally focussed on building on the growth we have seen across the business while continuing to give the VW Van operation the commitment of a Senior Board member who is dedicated to all aspects of that operation.''

Hartshorne Group, who are one of Volvo’s largest independent Dealers, took over the VW Van franchise two years ago. Since then, a total of £1.75 million has been invested in a new-build, state of the art VW Van Centre at Bilston in the West Midlands. In 2005, the company also took over the VW Van franchise for the Birmingham area with a large showroom and service centre close to the city centre at St. Stephen’s Street and is currently developing a site in the Shrewsbury area.
