EX F1 CHAMPION DAMON HILL JOINS AUDI NETWORK
24 November 2003 - Audi
1996 Formula One World Champion Damon Hill has roared in to the fast lane with German premium car manufacturer Audi.
Hill, who followed in his late father Graham’s wheel tracks to Grand Prix motor racing glory, is the new owner of two Audi franchises. Damon has long been a committed fan of the brand and a long standing proud owner of an Audi TT Coupe quattro, but now has a direct association with the German luxury car company following the acquisition of the Bristol Audi and Exeter Audi dealerships. Damon is not the only high profile motor sport personality to have been impressed with the combination of high-performance driving dynamics and distinctive design. Former British Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert (A6) plus four fellow former Le Mans 24 Hour race winners, Guy Smith (TT), Andy Wallace (A3), Allan McNish (RS 4) and Mark Blundell (allroad), have each been enticed by sporting road-going Audi cars. ITV’s Formula One pit-lane reporter Louis Goodman owns her personal Audi TT and the experienced single-seater and sportscar drivers David Brabham (allroad) and Perry McCarthy, BBC TV Top Gear’s ‘The Stig’ (S8) are also proud Audi owners. Business Venture: Commenting on his new business venture in retailing Audi cars, Damon said: “This is a great opportunity for our team to show what we can do for Audi and their customers. “The parallels between the retail automotive industry and Formula One are perhaps not that obvious, but the market is as intensely competitive and success is linked closely to teamwork and a strong desire to be the best. “Investing in our people, building a winning spirit and offering the very best products and service are at the heart of our approach. It is our aim to make Bristol and Exeter two of Audi’s flagship dealerships.”
