TRACKER RECOVERS BMW''S
31 January 2006 - Tracker

Stolen BMWs worth almost £10.5 million were successfully returned to their rightful owners during 2005,thanks to stolen vehicle recovery outfit, TRACKER.

TRACKER teamed up with the police and returned 348 BMWs to their owners last year ? putting BMW on top of its league table, in terms of retrievals, over the past 12 months.

Annual figures compiled by the company revealed its success in recovering Germanic marques, as Mercedes were second with 203 vehicles, worth £6.8 million, being returned to their owners. Porsche and Audi completed the top positions with vehicles worth £4.2m and £3.2m respectively being recovered.

Parita Patel, marketing manager for TRACKER, said: ''BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Audi, just like many other manufacturers, equip their vehicles with the most sophisticated anti-theft systems available.

''Unfortunately, large numbers of cars are still being stolen.* One of the main reasons is the escalating problem of key theft, whereby a thief will steal, and then use, a car''s key to steal the vehicle. Equipping a TRACKER stolen vehicle system gives car owners and police the edge when is comes to tackling organised thieves.''
