D. K. TEASDALE & SON LTD TAKE ‘PRESTIGE’ VOLVO HEAVY HAULER

Heavy Haulage contractor D. K. Teasdale & Son Ltd of Bawtry, near Doncaster, have taken delivery of a high-specification 610bhp 8x4 FH16 tractor unit, which will be used on construction work, transporting heavy plant and equipment, as well as bridge beams and other building materials.

''Volvo’s are the best truck on the market for the type of work we do,'' explains Managing Director and driver Dan Teasdale. ''The service they provide is also excellent and I can’t see us switching to another make. The decision to choose an FH16 was based purely on power – what it gives allows us to stay in a higher gear for longer.''

The STGO CAT 3 artic was purchased from Volvo Dealer Crossroads Truck & Bus in Stallingborough, and is plated at 150 tonnes GCW. It has been specified with a Globetrotter XL cab in ‘Prestige’ trim with Volvo’s Office package. The cab spec includes electronic climate control, CD player, integrated fridge and microwave, single bunk and table and chairs in place of the lower bunk. The truck is also factory fitted with a Rockinger towing hitch on the front of the chassis for push/pull gradient work.
