FORD COLLECTS FOUR FLEET EXCELLENCE AWARDS
17 January 2006 - Ford

Ford has been named Fleet Manufacturer of the Year for the second year, as well as scooping four other main categories in the 2006 Fleet Excellence Awards.

The UK’s top-selling car, the Ford Focus, once again came top in the Lower Medium Car category for the seventh successive year, while the Focus 2.0 TDCi was voted New Diesel Car of the Year.

And in the MPV category it was the Ford Galaxy that won the day. The hugely popular people-carrier was launched 10 years ago – the latest-generation Galaxy makes its debut later this year.

The Fleet Excellence Awards are voted for by the readers of Fleet Week and Fleet Management. These publications have a combined readership of 32,000 at more than 19,000 UK locations, which means the accolades are regarded as a significant indicator of those products and services that have proved their worth in the UK’s fleet industry.

''Winning no fewer than four Fleet Excellence awards is another wonderful result for Ford,'' said Ford of Britain’s Director of Fleet Operations, Kevin Griffin, on receiving the awards. ''It always means a lot when awards are conferred as the result of users’ positive experiences with our products, because we know we’re getting it right not just in the showroom but in the real world.
