PEUGEOT LCV NEWS UPDATE
22 January 2006 - Peugeot

LCV SALES SUMMARY 2005

Peugeot achieves record LCV sales in 2005 in a total market down 1.6% and within a segment down 2.0%*.

Unlike the commercial vehicle market which declined 1.6% compared to 2004, Peugeot achieved a growth in its commercial vehicle sales of 8.5%, and for the first time sold more than 17,000 light commercial vehicles in a single year.

The star of the range was the Peugeot Partner with a sales increase of 15.8% year on year. A strong product specification and competitive contract hire rates have enabled the Partner to strengthen its position in the segment. With the Citroën Berlingo down 1.5%, Ford Transit Connect down 16.5%, Vauxhall Astra down 15.9% and Renault Kangoo down 16.7%, the strong sales performance of the Peugeot Partner, further demonstrates its strong position within the CDV sector, which was down 3%.

Expert sales increased by 12.9%, compared to the same period last year, in a market sector which declined by 7.7%. With total sales of 5743 vehicles the Expert continues to yet again out sell its sister vehicles from Fiat and Citroën.

Boxer sales also increased by 3.4% compared to the same period in 2004, in a market sector down 2.0%, excluding Motorhome sales which grew by 4% in a sector up 5.6%.

The Motorhome sector continues to be dominated by Fiat and Peugeot with their sister vehicles.

With Peugeot commercial vehicle sales increasing by over 24% in the last five years and with a record year in 2005, Peugeot’s Light Commercial vehicles are really going from strength to strength.
