20 January 2006 - Sortimo

Sortimo International Limited has supplied and installed South East Water’s Ford Transit mobile support fleet for the last two years

The company now is pleased to announce that it has again been awarded with the van racking and livery contract for the next two and half years. Sortimo provide and equip the lighting, electrical fittings, racking systems, communications equipment and livery to South East Water’s service vehicles. The initial fleet of 92 vehicles for 2005/2006, comprises of long and short wheelbase Ford Transit Connects and 2 LandRovers supplied by GE Capital via Lifestyle Ford of Horsham.

South East water was pleased to re-award a two and half year contract to Sortimo, for the ‘one stop shop’ solution provided for the water supplier’s commercial vehicle fleet. Kevin Yetman, Transport Team Leader for South East Water said, ''We are pleased to continue to work with Sortimo, as they have a proven track record with quality, safety and service for our commercial vehicle fleet.''

Sortimo worked very closely with South East Water on the 8 different special specifications required for these service vehicles. These specifications include; racking systems, handwash units, twin amber rotating lightbars, internal lamp, a floodlight to allow illumination of the road when the rear doors are open, PA system, Brink tow bar, roof rack for carrying ladders and livery.

The most eye-catching of the eight specifications is the South East Water ‘Distribution Inspector’ in the thirty-six Ford Transit Connects, which are equipped with a twin floor made of anti-slip safety flooring Soboform® and contains a drawer unit within the whole size of the vehicle floor. Three shelving systems with trough units, long component trays, lower shelves to store rolled up signs at floor level, non-slip anti-rattle mats for the shelves, dividers and Euro Boxes for safe easy storage, a handwash unit, interior lights and Sowaflex® wall linings.

Another interesting specification is the three ‘Leakage Technician’ Connects. These have been kitted out with Sortimo Globelyst units comprising of a raised twin level Soboform® anti-slip safety flooring for half of the vehicle by the near side door with a flap opening to store specialist equipment. Sowaflex® wall cladding, three different racking systems – one with three 100% telescopic drawers of differing depths, drawer dividers, shelving units with trough trays, non-slip anti-rattle mats for the shelves, Euro Boxes, slide-out workbench and vice.
