Sun or winter skiing holidays made easy

Easirent Motorhome Rental from Lancashire has opened a new business venture in Spain called Motorhome Rental Malaga where UK customers can take advantage of cheap flights to Malaga and then drive their hired luxury motorhome searching out the sun, sand or snow.

This unique service will now operate all the year round for travellers who fancy a winter sunshine break in Spain for just for a week, a month or even longer? Now the fly-drive service offers Brits the opportunity to add skiing in the Sierra Nevada to their possible itinerary.

Nick Hanley, founder of Easirent.com said, ''As it is now the skiing season we have extended our fly-drive options to include ski-breaks as well.''

So Brits arriving at Malaga Airport can now choose the sunshine of the coast or drive around two hours into the Sierra Nevada Mountains for a ski break. He said, ''We have seen a huge increase in demand for motorhome hire both in the UK and for customers wishing to take them abroad. The growth in the UK motorhome industry is significant, with 6,201 new vehicles, an increase of 4 per cent, being bought in the first half of this year. Currently there are over 130,000 motorhomes in use by UK residents and the average use of each vehicle is 38 nights a year. Interestingly it is the 30-somethings who appear to now be attracted to holidays or weekend breaks in motorhomes, they seem to enjoy the varied types of family getaways that these vehicles can be used for.''

''But we have also seen a significant number of more senior people, who no longer are tied to their children and have more time on their hands. Some have taken early retirement and they now want to take extended holidays in the sunshine, especially Spain. We are finding that these customers are also thinking about buying a second home in the region or just looking for the right property to move abroad permanently. As to the cost of hiring the vehicle, Nick Hanley said, ''Long rental periods are negotiable for price and duration but in general, a week’s hire with a 1,000 mile limit costs £875 which includes insurance. Extra days are charged at £137 a day. Customers pay for the fuel they use. We can even hire bicycles to our customers at £20 per person per week or £3 per day.''
