SB WASTE HOOKED ON VOLVO
06 December 2005 - Volvo Truck Ltd

SB Waste Management & Recycling Ltd have taken delivery of three new Volvo FM12 8x4 rigids including two hook loaders and a tipper

The vehicles have come from the Pensnett depot of Volvo Dealer Hartshorne Motor Services.

The trucks – all 380bhp, 32 tonners – have been specified with manual gearboxes, Day cabs in ‘Comfort’ trim, including electronic climate control, and radio/CD players. Also included in the spec are beacons and air horns.

“Our fleet of skip loaders, hooklifts and tippers, which is 30-strong, consists entirely of vehicles of Volvo origin, selected and purchased on a well-established record within our company of reliability, driver comfort, after sales service and parts availability,” explains Mark Cox, SB Waste’s Depot Manager at Wolverhampton. “Running a fleet of modern, technologically advanced trucks has the advantages of satisfying the comfort and practical needs of the professional drivers we employ with road stress being minimised and a more positive aspect being taken towards the company and its customer requirements.”

“We find through feedback from our customers that environmental impact is becoming increasingly more important and having a modern fleet of Volvo’s is a significant factor in reducing the impact on the environment, both for ourselves and our customer’s business. The image of SB Waste Management & Recycling Ltd of honesty, reliability and value for money is enhanced by the Volvo emblem and the image it portrays,” he concludes.

Bodywork on the hook loaders was supplied by PSL, while the tipper body was supplied by Trent Industries. All the vehicles will be used on SB Waste’s domestic and commercial recycling contracts across the West Midlands.
