NISSAN OPENS ROADS….
01 December 2005 - Nissan

Nissan has launched a new public website to increase awareness of technologies

Technologies include satellite navigation, that are already available on Nissan’s range of vehicles, and the site will also showcase services that will be used in future products.

www.nissan-openroad.co.uk has three main functions – an off-road course locator, a pan-European route planner and traffic information.

Rather than taking someone’s word for it, Nissan has visited over 40 off-road courses to ensure they’re worthy of entry on its website. By simply entering the area you wish to take your 4x4, the site will give you the location of the nearest off-road course, a description of the course, opening hours and how much it will cost. This section also has a photo gallery and video footage.

The route-planner not only calculates an itinerary to wherever your travels may take you in Europe, but it also gives weather forecasts/conditions and includes points of interest along the way.

And last, but no means least, traffic information. Naturally this does exactly what it says on the tin (or on your computer screen), and shows the areas to avoid enabling a clog-free journey.

Nissan Openroad goes live on December 1.
