ALFA ROMEO WINS AUTOCAR DESIGN AWARD
19 November 2005 - Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo has just won The Design Award for its new Brera sportscar in Autocar magazine''s Annual Awards.

The prestigious prize, part of Autocar''s annual tribute to outstanding achievements of the automotive industry and the people who work in it, was yesterday presented to the Brera''s designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, together with head of Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, Wolfgang Egger.

Commenting on its choice, Autocar describes the new Brera as ''an imposing coupe with rare grace. It creates impact through the quality of its lines and proportions rather than visual gimmicks. The style is carried through into the cabin where a sporting mix of materials and shapes creates a real driver-focused feel. It''s the sort of car you just want to get in and drive''.

The Alfa Romeo Brera is expected to go on sale here in right-hand drive in spring 2006.
