EXCELLENCE ACHIEVED THROUGH MONDIAL UK STAFF AWARDS
17 November 2005 - Mercedes-Benz

2004 Mercedes-Benz Technician of the Year Awards announced

The Mercedes-Benz ‘Team of the Year’ winners have been announced in recognition of the manufacturer’s top performing roadside assistance technicians across the UK. The award is lead by scheme operator and customer relationship experts, Mondial UK. These highly prized accolades reward the best achievers amongst the scheme’s highly qualified technicians and promote a culture of service excellence.

Bob Lonsdale, Technical Manager at Mondial UK comments, ''The dedicated Mercedes-Benz Team has done a sterling job in the past twelve months. These technicians who are Mondial employees, not only reflect the manufacturer’s culture of excellence, they fully absorb the Mercedes-Benz way of working and we are delighted to be able to reward one outstanding individual from each region across the UK. These awards are incredibly important to Mondial’s pursuit of exemplary professionalism and quality of work. They encourage our technicians to strive to be the best and the calibre of the winners is testament to that.''

Technicians were nominated by their Regional Managers and then mystery shopped and assessed. Roadside fix, presentation, people skills, customer service and product knowledge were all areas on which they were measured for performance.

The five winning technicians were:

· Trevor Bostock from the Midlands

· William Mitchell from Scotland

· Simon Hawkey from the West Country

· Neil Bartlett from the North West

· Mannohar Ubhi from London and the South East

Each winner will receive a prize which will consist of a visit to the Mercedes-Benz factory in Stuttgart, Germany, with overnight accommodation for all concerned along with a branded Mercedes-Benz gift; this will be jointly funded by Mondial and Mercedes-Benz, as well as a certificate recognising their achievement.
