HAT-TRICK FOR CITROËN AS LOEB WINS AGAIN
31 October 2005 - Citroën UK Ltd

An incredible tenth win of the season by Sébastien Loeb.

The Rally of Catalunya has helped secure a third successive FIA Manufacturers’ WRC title* for Citroën in only its third full season of competition.

In a dominating weekend for the Citroën rally team Francois Duval finished second to complete a Citroën one-two, while Dani Sordo and his C2 secured the Junior WRC title* with his fourth victory of the season.

The weekend of success followed last Wednesday''s announcement that the French team will return to the World Rally Championship in 2007 with the new C4 WRC.

The Catalunya triumph took Loeb’s personal record to 20 WRC wins, making him the fifth most successful driver in WRC history alongside Didier Auriol. He also extends his own record to 10 wins in a single season and to 12 consecutive podium finishes.

Sébastien was delighted and visibly moved by the heroes'' welcome they were given by the team and its fans at the end of the rally. ''I always wanted to win here one day,'' admits Seb. ''At the same time, in addition to wrapping up the Manufacturers'' title today, Citroën has also sewn up the JWRC thanks to Dani Sordo and his C2 Super 1600. It''s been a dream weekend, the end result of the passion and the work put in by everyone in the team. This tenth win is a symbol of our perfect season and I would like to dedicate it to them…''
