TXII GETS SMOOTH RIDE AT TRADE SHOW
15 October 2005 - LTI Vehicles
Drivers got the chance to test drive the latest London taxi with its improved road handling at a London trade show.
More than 100 cabbies took time out to get behind the wheel of the TXII after visiting the LTI Vehicles stand at the Private Hire and Taxi Monthly Live event at Wembley Exhibition Centre. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, particularly in relation to the improved ride, and the showcase has led to a rise in interest at LTI Vehicles’ network of approved dealers. The LTI Vehicles stand at the exhibition featured a Gold specification, storm grey, automatic TXII, supplied by Mann & Overton London, as well as a rolling chassis, supplied by the factory. Free branded fleece bodywarmers were given to the 106 drivers who tried one of the four test vehicles over the two days of the annual event. Maria Holmes-Wood, Marketing Manager at Coventry-based LTI Vehicles, said: ''Drivers had the opportunity to drive the vehicles with the new road handling system. ''The feedback we had was very good overall, especially on the improved ride. ''Having so many people want to try out the new TXII in such a short space of time was fantastic and demonstrates the reputation LTI Vehicles has for quality products. ''We have noticed a knock-on effect with increased interest at our showrooms as well, particularly in the London area.'' Ian Butcher, New Vehicle Sales Manager for Mann & Overton London, added: ''We have had a number of people come in who have been at the show who have said they are interested in a new vehicle. ''It seems that the awareness is now out there about the improvements to the TXII. ''We had two people down at the show and are very happy with how things are going.'' A prize draw was held to win £140 worth of Black Cab Collection merchandise and was won by Ray Dunning, of Hungerford, Berkshire LTI Vehicles is one of only two remaining UK purpose-built taxi manufacturers and makes the only purpose-built, wheelchair-accessible taxis. The London cabs – the latest incarnation of which is the TXII – have become iconic across the world and inextricably linked to all things British.
