LEXUS FLAGSHIP CONCEPT TO DEBUT AT TOKYO MOTOR SHOW
16 October 2005 - Lexus

The comprehensive renewal of the Lexus product range will reach another milestone at the Tokyo Motor Show next week with the unveiling of a new flagship saloon concept.

First details of the new concept vehicle will be announced at the show on 19 October, sustaining the momentum of Lexus’s development as a global prestige manufacturer.

The flagship concept will be exhibited alongside the GS 450h, a hybrid power version of the newly-launched GS premium saloon range that is set for production in 2006. Combining a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with a powerful electric motor, it delivers performance comparable to a conventional 4.5-litre power unit, while returning fuel economy comparable to a standard 2.0-litre saloon. The combined power output of the GS 450h hybrid system will be around 340bhp.

Also on view will be the radical Lexus LF-A concept, a two-seater supercar powered by a high-output V10 engine. The LF-A concept is 4,400mm long, 1,860mm wide and 1,220mm high.
